Donald W. Kohn, D.D.S.
Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Kohn is an internationally recognized authority in pediatric dentistry. He is the founder of the Pediatric Dentistry Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and served for 25 years as Director of Post-Doctoral Pediatric Dentistry and Chief of Dentistry at the hospital, as well as Clinical Professor of Surgery (dental) and Pediatrics at Yale University School of Medicine.
An alumnus of Northwestern University and honors graduate of Emory University School of Dentistry, Dr. Kohn completed post-doctoral specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
A noted author and editor, he has served as president of numerous key professional organizations including the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Society of Dentistry for Children, the Connecticut Society of Pediatric Dentists, the Connecticut Society of Dentistry for Children and the New Haven Dental Association. Dr. Kohn is an examiner for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Douglas B. Keck, D.M.D.
Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Keck serves on the clinical teaching staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine. A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, he completed his post-doctoral specialty training at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Keck has served as president of the Connecticut Society of Pediatric Dentists and the Connecticut Society of Dentistry for Children. He actively serves on the Council of Government Affairs of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and on the Legislative Council of the Connecticut State Dental Association.

Kinnari Desai, D.M.D.
Dr. Desai is a 2001 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and received her dental training (Doctor of Dental Medicine) at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She served as Chief Resident during the second year of her post-doctoral general practice residency at Monmouth Medical Center (NJ), concentrating in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Desai completed her post-doctoral specialty training and residency in pediatric dentistry at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Desai is Board Certified and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
In addition to her research on the dental needs of school-aged children and the effects of sedative medications, Dr. Desai has participated in numerous professional volunteer activities, including National Children’s Dental Health Month, the Special Olympics, and Give Kids a Smile Day. Dr. Desai has joined Dr. Kohn and Dr. Keck’s ongoing teaching of Pediatric Dentistry and patient care activities at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital.
The Mission of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is to verify to the public and to the health professions that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed both an advanced educational program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation and a voluntary examination process designed to validate the knowledge, application, and performance requisite to the delivery of competent care in pediatric dentistry.
The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is the only certifying Board recognized by the American Dental Association for the specialty of pediatric dentistry.
